How to Apply 

 

1) Review Criteria & Eligibility 

Ensure that you meet the following requirements for the scholarship application. 

i) Open to new students applying for admission into A Level. 

ii) Achieved a minimum of 6A’s and above in SPM, IGCSE, O-Levels, or other international qualifications. 

iii) Open to both Malaysian and international citizens who have accepted an official offer of admission to SISM for the August 2026 intake 

iv) Demonstrated exceptional achievements in academics, sports, talent, or skills. 

v) Participated in activities that create a positive impact on the community. 

vi) Applicants must not be current recipients of any other sponsorship, scholarship, or financial aid from any organizations. 

vii) The scholarship is a tuition fee waiver for the TWO academic years of the A Level programme. 

 

2) Complete the Online Application Form

Applicants are required to submit an application to join the school before receiving the scholarship application form. 

Fill in and submit your application through the SISM Application Portal.

 

3) Complete the Scholarship Application Form

Find the Makiguchi Global Citizen Scholarship application form in the checklist of the SISM Application Portal. Complete and submit the form. 

Within the form, upload the required documents below. 

  1. A certified copy of the actual/forecast/trial examination results meeting the 6A’s minimum requirement. 
  2. Recommendation letter from the previous school (Homeroom Teacher or Principal) 
  3. A detailed portfolio of achievements, co-curricular activities, and community service activities with supporting documents. 
  4. A Personal Statement of 500 to 600 words 
  • The document should be submitted in softcopy format, either in Microsoft Word or PDF. 
  • Please ensure the document is typed using a legible font, such as Arial or Calibri, with a font size of 12 points. 

Notes:  

Meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee the award of a scholarship. The selection process is competitive and based on the overall strength of the application, including an interview for shortlisted candidates. The decision of the SISM Scholarship Committee is final.
